LITTLE MEHRIN

The project to build the Moravian Jewish Museum in the form we dreamed of four years ago is progressing well. We have a great design for a new building by the Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, but we don't want to wait until the new building is built and welcomes its first visitors.

That is why we opened the "temporary" museum Malý Mehrin at Vídeňská 14 on 28 February.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Brno, Markéta Vaňková, but also by playwright Milan Uhde, one of the last survivors of the Holocaust, Karel Ellinger, and of course the author of the first exhibition of our museum, documentary filmmaker Martin Šmok.

Just two days later, we welcomed the American writer Kathi Diamant, who wrote a wonderful book about Franz Kafka's last love Dora Diamant, to the Malý Mehrin. You can find out more about the Malý Mehrin on its own website. www.malymehrin.cz.
